Feedback Needed: Third Party Sites
Back in January we posted a message letting you know that you can now share updates from other sites on your Yahoo! Profile and across the Yahoo! network. Many of you mentioned that there were several services missing from the list, so here’s your chance to share what sites you’d like to see, and to provide your feedback directly to the Profiles team.
What types of sites would you like to see more of? (Social Networks (MySpace, Orkut, Facebook); Photo-Sharing (Photobucket); Bookmarking (Digg, etc.); Blogging (WordPress, etc); Shopping Sites; Ticketing; etc)
To see what services are currently available, log into your profile, and then click on the “Updates” tab up at the top (1) , and then click on “Share More” (2).

To share your thoughts on what other third party sites you would want to see on the “Share More” tab, please leave a comment below. Feedback will be shared with the Profiles product team. Thanks!

Interesting to see that you have Bloglines on there – what with that being an Ask.com service, and also doesn’t really have anything to ‘alert’ people about? I’m not opposed to it being on there, I use Bloglines myself.
Other services I’m pleased are on there include: Last.fm, Twitter, Tumblr, Vimeo, YouTube and Ma.gnolia – even though the latter is currently dead and it’s return is looking sketchy. Unfortunately.
What I would like to see added is: Diigo, Delicious, Flickr, LinkedIn, Upcoming, Wakoopa.
There should be more options for blogging, there’s a range of different services, like LiveJournal, WordPress, Blogger, Opera Community, etc that probably have some form of API for updating various information. Failing that, you need a ‘Custom RSS Feed’ link – so that anyone can add their blog updates so long as they’re running an valid RSS feed.
Surely it goes without saying that this could be a place to bring all of Yahoo!’s services together; updates should be coming in left, right and center:
everytime i post a question or answer on Yahoo! Answers
when I post or favourite a video on Yahoo! Video
when I favourite or post new photos to Flickr
updating bookmarks on Delicious
attending events on Upcoming
buzzing up stories on Yahoo! Buzz
rating movies on Yahoo! Movies
joining groups on Yahoo! Groups
hi-scores in games on Yahoo! Games
updating my location on Fire Eagle
There’s so many more options; you just need to think of them – this is surely what you get paid for? And if not, someone should.
Yahoo! Profiles seems to be invading some of the space taken by MyBlogLog anyway – what’s with that? Surely you guys should be working hand-in-hand and looking at making one service better, as opposed to creating seperate services?
Yahoo made this same mistake by acquiring Delicious and then going on to create and further develop Yahoo! MyWeb / Bookmarks when really, these services should’ve merged.
Sometimes I wonder whether Yahoo! users know the companie’s services better than it’s staff do.
February 10th, 2009 at 3:24 am
*oops, “company’s” not “companie’s” – sorry for my feedback / rant being riddled with poor spelling and grammar.
February 10th, 2009 at 10:55 am
Hi Coxy,
It’s hidden, but there you’ll find permissions on incorporating your updates for many of the other Yahoo! services you use.
Great comment, and thanks for taking the time to share. Delicious (along with other Yahoo! services) are available– just go to Updates>Manage My Updates> and then scroll down to the bottom where it says “Show all Yahoo! Sources”. Ta-da!
As far as this comment goes “Sometimes I wonder whether Yahoo! users know the companie’s services better than it’s staff do.” — sometimes (hey, I’ll admit it) you guys do. That’s why we want to ask for your feedback. Day in and day out, you guys are the ones using our products, and finding new ways to implement things that we’re creating. That gives you a unique perspective on things, and we want to hear it.
I mean it– we mean it– when we/I say we want your feedback, so I/we appreciate you taking the time to share.
Thanks.

Oh and in response to the “isn’t this what you get paid for” comment– yes, it is. But, it’s also important to make sure that the properties that I use and our team uses or thinks are cool, are also properties and services that YOU all think are cool and would want to use.
That way we offer services and connections that are valuable to you all, the users, and not just to us.

February 10th, 2009 at 7:42 pm
I think flickr is needed, and i think the biggest issue are yahoo properties. Not enough are active. Even though they have available settings, activity that is listed to the service are not shown as updates.
I know you guys will need time to integrate while operating yahoo, but the quicker you get it done the better.
February 18th, 2009 at 12:23 pm
Hi MK,
Great point. However, what do you mean by “activity that is listed to the service are not shown as updates”– did you go to Updates>Manage my Updates> and then scroll down to the bottom to “Show All Yahoo! Sources?”
Either way, thanks for the comment!

I would like to see the my 360 blog here on Yahoo on this list! Or – I would like to have a blog here in yahoo to replace the blog that was on the 360 site.
I would like to have a blog connected to the New Profile feature.
February 11th, 2009 at 1:36 pm
Hi Mary Ellen,
There actually are a few ways that you can link a blog to your new profile (I posted this response to a few other people on my previous message, so forgive me for copy/pasting it below, but I figured I’d share it again here).
Currently, if you use a third party blogging service like Blogger, Xanga, or many others, you can integrate these into your profile as an update so your connections are aware of new posts.
Additionally, if you use a service that is not currently available in the “Share More” tab of your profile, you can always set up a MyBlogLog profile (it’s also a Yahoo! property) and link your third party blog to it. MyBlogLog will then publish your updates from your blog in your feed to your connections (if you have this preference set).
I know this isn’t the same as having a blog in your profile, but for the time being, these are a few features/options that enable you to blog and share your updates/thoughts with your Yahoo! connections.
Hope this helps.

I’d have to voice my opinion for Multiply support actually.

Thanks, Venom!
Sigh, too bad you didn’t say Yahoo! Groups.
I’ll be sure to pass it along.

February 18th, 2009 at 12:27 am
Multiply is the best social net going, and the fastest growing. I migrated there last year ( with several million ) from Yahoo 360 and never looked back.
That’s why I doubt if Yahoo will ever connect with Multiply.
February 18th, 2009 at 12:25 pm
Hi Wallace,
Thanks for seconding Venom’s vote for Multiply– I’ll pass it on. Part of the reason for this post is to create an open conversation regarding services and to truly see what sites our users would want to see integrated. If enough users want to have Multiply integrate in with Profiles, our team would definitely take a look at the options.
Thanks for commenting!

I think what users truly want is a return to the older and better profile system or at least something that works as well as the old one did and chatrooms that aren’t choked with bots.
February 11th, 2009 at 10:55 pm
I don’t understand why the Profile team is playing catch up with other Yahoo products…namely MyBlogLog. Anything that MyBlogLog has, the new profile should have. Actually, MyBlogLog really should be the profile system.
Lets face it…Yahoo dropped the ball they way this entire profile system issue has been handled. Mash was Facebook Lite and the new profile system doesn’t even match was Mash was. And where are the third party apps?
February 12th, 2009 at 11:21 am
Hi Carl,
Currently, third party apps integrate in as updates (Under the “Share More” tab). Are you wanting to see actual apps (like widgets) within the profiles, or just more options under the “Share More” tab?

February 11th, 2009 at 11:15 pm
I would like to see you add Datehookup.com
Thanx!!
February 12th, 2009 at 3:19 am
Hi Melissa,
Would you consider adding Meez to your 3rd Party apps? And allow more rss feeds? And how about some free virtual gifts to send to our contacts?
I would really like to personalize my profile more, but at this point I can’t blog there, I can’t change the look of the page (colors, themes, backgrounds, etc), and the Yahoo avatar is not very representative of anyone over a size 2, older than 20, or with any kind of disability, or wants to promote causes.
It’s difficult to relate to a profile page that doesn’t seem to represent me at all. It’s hard to feel open and social with a profile that is so limited. I know it’s just starting out, but right now there is nothing unique about it, and nothing that allows me to be unique.
It would be nice if we could also post more than one rss feed within Blogger. Or increase the blog rss feeds so that they include all the major blogging sites. I’d like to post two blogs, my personal one and the one geared toward my hobbies – even if it’s just a feed. I maintain more than one because on my hobby blog I can focus on one topic and get very detailed about it, where most of my family or friends might not want that much detail about my latest project, (unless of course they also share my interest in crafts). On your profile page, I have to choose one or the other, but I can’t highlight both. I either need to be allowed to post more than one Blogger feed, or I need to be able to post other blogging sites (LiveJournal or Wordpress, for example). Or, better yet, give me a Yahoo blog that works. (Yes, I know that’s coming.)
To be honest, the profile page is very boring. And unattractive. And I don’t really relate to it. It doesn’t feel like a reflection of me or my personality. There’s nothing to encourage me to engage in it, nothing to draw me in.
I don’t need a bunch of flashing, glittery graphics. I would just like to be more personal. I want to put something out there that reflects my personality, my causes, my interests, to highlight elements of my personal and social persona. One profile looks pretty much like every other profile. Perhaps a graphic to announce the causes I’m passionate about. A theme or background to reflect my personality, an avatar that actually looks more like me or has clothing or gear that reflects my interests, and more rss capability (Wordpress, LJ, Flicker, etc) so I can showcase more of my life. What you have is a good start, but take it further.
And how about something to encourage more social interaction? Perhaps an ability to send virtual (free) gifts or greetings? Something along the lines of Facebook’s ability to send a flower or a plant, or a greeting of some kind, to our friends.
Please put a decent blog in your profile. I know you’re working on this. I hope it’s well done. I hope it has all the bells and whistles. It could help make up for the lack of them on the profile page.
And thank you for allowing feedback, and for offering updates. The last update we had on 360 was in May 2008, and that told us the transition should have taken place by now. We want to know WHAT’S GOING ON and WHEN WILL IT HAPPEN?? Even if you change the info down the road, that’s okay, just TELL US. And even if you can’t offer details, please do offer something. A carrot. Tell us the new blogging feature won’t give up anything we had in 360. Tell is if it will be all we had and more, if that’s the case. That at least is interesting and intriguing, even if it doesn’t give any concrete details. Tell us you’re aiming to release it in the spring, or summer, or whenever, but give us your best ballpark. You can change it later if your goals were unrealistic. We know it happens, and we can understand. But without updates, it’s easy to believe nothing is happening, and nothing will happen for a very long time. So why bother sticking around?
There are so many social network sites, and so many blogging sites. But each one has a feature that is missing or done poorly. I want a blog, a good blog. I want an easy social network, and things to encourage interaction. I want personalization. I want to feel like it’s geared towards adults and not children. (I don’t need music, and I don’t need glittering, animated teddybears. A little little decoration – color – would be nice.) I want it to reflect me and my interests.
I want it all. Will I find it here?
Thanks for listening.
February 12th, 2009 at 11:34 am
Joni,
Thanks for your comment. I agree that keeping an open line of communication is important, and I hope to do just that.
I agree, adding more RSS options is a great idea, and I’ll definitely pass it on as well. You also raise a valid point about having multiple identities/blogs with sites (like blogger)– I will also be sure to bring that up.
As far as your design feedback goes, thank you. Thanks for taking the time to (care enough to) write it all out.

Adding more than one blogs from the same site (for example 3 different blogs from Blogspot) would be useful too. Such a service is already offered by MyBlogLog.

Y,
I agree. Great feedback! I’ll pass it on.
-Melissa
February 12th, 2009 at 8:40 am
Y! is REALLY on the wrong track here. The new Y! is anti-social.
People come to social sites to meet & interact… keep up with family & friends… live vicariously… make new friends… it’s nearly impossible to do ANY of these with the new Y!
So far, the ONLY people adding me are perves that thought my pic was hot. Why? Because my profile says almost nothing about me..
If they’re not interested in ME, then who cares what movies I like… what songs I listen to? clothes I wear? The crumbs are too tiny and sparse for anyone to care enough to click thru… so Y! is creating Perve-network 3.0 because all people have to go on is a picture and a sentence…
The Y! Profile should LEVERAGE Y! Messenger’s dominance… to get people to click on “view profile” and read what the person has to say about products, places, movies, things. THEN – charge advertisers for click-thrus to movie times, tickets, find out more…
Someone needs to smack your CTO about the head… make him stop talking in buzz & spin… and make him realize Y! is giving far too little… and the user exodus will continue.
February 13th, 2009 at 4:37 pm
Hi Pokester,
Forgive me for snooping, but I pulled up your profile. The reason why people are only connecting with you because of what you look like, is because that’s the only information you have available for them to view. If you change your preferences and allow people who are not connections to view more of your profile, you might find yourself running into people who are more interested in you, as opposed to your appearance.
To do this, log into your profile, click on Settings, and then click on the About Me tab. From here, you can change it to be viewable by anyone, which will might increase the quality of people reaching out to you.
Don’t get me wrong– there are plenty of people out there who are looking to just connect, irregardless of your image, profile content, or whatever. They’re warm body seekers, and will find you no matter what, and no amount of spam/bot protection will probably ever protect anyone from them.
The team is looking at ways to better “compartmentalize” (for lack of a better word) your information so that it’s easier to share only what you want with the people you want.
Thanks for your feedback!
-Melissa
February 12th, 2009 at 8:50 am
Oh – forgot to mention… I’m LESS likely to SHARE with people I don’t really know… who I can’t find much about… and well, I see they feel the same way as 90% of the profiles users have little to nothing to share, too.
Doesn’t matter how much one builds up.. if it has a crummy foundation…
February 12th, 2009 at 9:46 am
I think you have an excellent point. I think most users of Yahoo, use it for mail, and really don’t care about profiles at all. You’re only going to have a small subset of Yahoo’s users even touching their profiles making the majority of these changes worthless.
Anyone who was already interested in a social site is already using MySpace and FaceBook. They’re not going to drop those to start using Yahoo’s social features.
So, here we are with the “crummy foundation” being built up for hardly anyone to use.
February 18th, 2009 at 12:28 pm
Bruiser,
So tell us what you’d like to see to make profiles better– I can honestly say the team is working incredibly hard to remedy the “crummy foundation” that you’ve highlighted, and is committed to creating a positive user experience– and we want to do that with the help of users like you (and all of you here, who are willing to share your thoughts).
So tell us– what can we do to improve your experience?
-Melissa
February 12th, 2009 at 6:26 pm
I think it’s interesting that Joni said so much that I believe is true and what needs to be done right now. I also think it’s interesting that the question was asked as to when we could expect the new profile to have the things people enjoyed about Yahoo 360 and she was never given an answer.
Why can’t we get an answer? Why are we waiting so long for improvements that are slow at coming out and are still months or years behind the competition. Yahoo, you guys have been shutting down more sites than adding them (see Yahoo 360, Yahoo Briefcase, Yahoo Auctions, Yahoo Teachers, etc.)
coxy is right that it seems yahoo has multiple services that do the same thing. Can someone please take control of the Yahoo experience and try to catch up and surpass everyone else?!
February 18th, 2009 at 12:41 pm
Lorenzo,
You’re right. Joni did make a lot of excellent points. But I disagree with the shutdown comment– we’ve had a lot of great additions to the family, though many of which have been back-end or developer applications, as opposed to user applications like those you referenced.
As far as getting an answer– I’m communicating with you as much as I can. We are all working to “take control of the Yahoo experience” and work to meet and exceed user expectations. But this process takes time, a little bit of patience, and feedback from you all.
So thank you for doing your part– I understand your frustration, and believe me, we’re all working to make your Yahoo! experience the best it can possibly be.
-Melissa

subhash,
I agree that what Joni said is on point with the sentiment of many users. The reason as to why I didn’t address the 360 issues is because I can’t at this point provide a clear answer on any of the issues she addressed. Rather than saying “I can’t answer that” or “I’ll get back to you” I refrained from answering. Instead, I plan on coming back (hopefully very soon) with more of a concrete answer as opposed to just providing vague responses.

February 19th, 2009 at 7:05 pm
How about giving us a our member directory search back, that as already been said time and time and time and time again by us users.
February 13th, 2009 at 11:14 am
Not a fan of this whole ‘web 2.0′ thing at all, and frankly would not use any of the aforementioned site types myself. I do however think that if you are going to open your doors to any third party devos then you should be doing so for game design companies, specifically those who would be able to make more third party games that two people could play over Messenger or some other means connected to yahoo.
This is not an endorsement of the idiotic ‘x box live achivement’ BS (though you may want to look into them as well for the sake of some easy cash) but rather a note based on the fact that I can now stream my shows with friends over messenger and doing this with a few flash games might be interesting when nobody is in the mood to RP.
Also I knokw your bosses may get a bit upset, but I think that it would be alot nicer if you did/could say “I can’t answer that’ to many of our concerns. You don’t have all the answers Melissa, and we understand that. It is alot easier for the majority of the user base to understand that though than to feel as if we are going unanswered. We don’t need vague guesses or possible plans, just say “I do not know at this time” and we will be complacent to wait.
February 13th, 2009 at 4:18 pm
Hi Terra,
Good point on the games. I’ll definitely pass that along.
I completely agree on the “I can’t answer that” front– I want to be as honest with you all as I can be, and have a conversation about how we can work together to improve profiles. You’re right– it’s important to be honest; even when it’s about not knowing something, and I will be the first to admit that I don’t have all the answers. I wish I did! But, I also will do my best to get the answers you all are looking for.
But sometimes, the pregnant pauses in my answers/responses aren’t because I’m ignoring you– it’s because either I’ve addressed the question before, can’t possibly answer every comment on the blog, or am working to find out the answer for you so I can share that instead.
But thank you for waiting.
-Melissa
February 13th, 2009 at 2:56 pm
Actually..I have to applaud Melissa….she’s trying to get some answers to questions about a product, where she’s not even standing under the “umbrella”!
I still say, that all of the products/features/services will soon be under one big YMail umbrella. Its got my profile link, chat and snazzy email service right now…add blogging and some cute decorations…the whole thing will look like MySpace with the home base being YMail.
Hey! That’s not a bad thing! I happen to think its a great idea, cause I like everything in one spot…with lots of tabs to get me everywhere else.

Hi Lacie,
Thanks
We’re working to make ALL of your experiences on Yahoo! more social– not just Y! Mail. That way, you can pick your favorite destination to get your information, and stick with it.

Yahoo Pipes ?
Still too complicated for most users probably, but building Pipe of RSS feeds from our sites is not too difficult I think.
February 18th, 2009 at 12:42 pm
nseika,
From your 360 sites, blog sites, or what sites do you mean?
-Melissa
February 27th, 2009 at 2:35 pm
Any site that has RSS feeds actually. Although last time I tried, it doesn’t seem as easy as it first looks like
360 is already included in the list of Yahoo service that works with the Profile’s activity streams right ?
BTW, thanks for adding Flickr, although somehow it still doesn’t work.
February 13th, 2009 at 6:55 pm
Tribe.net is under new management and would probably be a site worth adding as a third party. Might be best to try to e-mail them, rather than phone them up, I’m not sure they have restored phone service yet, lol!

Ha, thanks Floyd! I’ll pass it on.

why do i have such ahard time to sign ;IT is awful; I think i’ll find me a new home page; i get tired writting and still dont get in ;and it isnt me ;check it out; get real; fix it;
February 18th, 2009 at 12:44 pm
Klingshirley,
If you’re still having trouble signing in, be sure to report the issue to Customer Care. This causes a bug to be filed and notifies the teams here that there’s a potential issue.
Thanks!

February 14th, 2009 at 11:39 am
lol.. it’s real simple to me. Instead of seeing such things as OTHER blogging sites, I’d like see Yahoo 360! on the YAHOO profile. I dunno.. seems to make sense to me. And btw.. Shine sucks!
February 14th, 2009 at 9:02 pm
Please disregard my above comment.. except for the one about Shine.. as the whole page did not load earlier and I did not see the previous comments about 360. Speaking of which, it seems that alot of the Yahoo products are slow in loading. I’d like to say it’s my computer, but there aren’t any issues with other sites and pages outside of Yahoo.
I do agree that 360 should be the blog of choice for Yahoo for it is a wonderful base for a social network without all the glitz that people can find on the likes of MySpace and Facebook, and is more preferable to users of Yahoo than the latter mentioned ones.
I understand the desire to incorporate 3rd party items, but seriously, Yahoo bloggers would much rather see Yahoo fix the current problems and merge their 360 blogs with their profiles BEFORE any 3rd party additions are made. It will raise much more support from Yahoo users if they feel their concerns are being met first and then 3rd party additions will be taken as bonus material rather than replacements of what long-time users have enjoyed.
February 18th, 2009 at 12:49 pm
Kyouri,
Thanks for your comment. I understand your concern regarding your blog– if you’re like most users (or like me on this blog!) you’ve spent a lot of time writing your posts, responding to commenters, and want to ensure that all of that is retained. I’ll be sure to convey your sentiments to the team.
Thanks for sharing!
-Melissa
February 16th, 2009 at 4:26 am
As a fan of Yahoo, want to see Y’all successful and competitive. A good start IS cutting the clutter/services that are not useful, practical, or even fun. Social aspect..just as in life with family friends, co-workers, even strangers , people like to share. Simply, the interaction, communication, and fun of displaying talents, knowledge, humor, music, games etc. doesn’t have to be complicated. Also, Melissa..agree with you on this, we could put an empty bag up there as a avatar/picture and those who are looking for a warm body and a hot time in the city so to speak..will find you on any social network.
February 18th, 2009 at 12:51 pm
Hi Debbie,
Yep! They’re everywhere! That’s why it’s important for us to know what services you all want to share with the people you actually care about– as opposed to the people who are just looking to meet anyone. Determining what really matters to you all (in terms of content and services) will help create a better product and a user experience.
Thanks for commenting.
-Melissa
February 19th, 2009 at 4:03 am
But most of us who came to yahoo DIDN’T want to share, and DON’T want to share and having it forced on us is wrong.Yahoo cannot, CANNOT become a social networking site. It was the last bastion of sanity on the internet, and if it goes away people will be left with nothing.
February 17th, 2009 at 1:02 am
Please add an option to show your friends or contact list as you would see in all other social networking sites.
February 18th, 2009 at 12:52 pm
Hi Stuwart,
Is there a particular site that you feel does this best? Many sites have different ways of showing your connections/contacts– which do you prefer?
-Melissa
February 18th, 2009 at 4:36 pm
How about this, how about we just all, look at our own profiles seeing how we don’t even have a way to search others, see what ads are on them, contact the companies, tell them what you’ve done, and how hardly anyone is seeing the ad’s because you can no longer browse profiles. And that they are wasting their money and should try spending their advertising dollars elsewhere like myspace. The same thing for chat, where there is nobody viewing the ads because of the bots, I’ll just be sure to look for all these companies and contact them and let them know they might want to log into your chat and see how many users are actually seeing their ads.
February 18th, 2009 at 7:28 pm
I’m not pleased, I wish that in my curiosity had never change anything on my email page. I want no picture no invitations to look at my mail. How do I go back now? Has anyone that information?
February 22nd, 2009 at 10:41 am
Once again, another point in programing that is very rarely working, I have sent your mis – programmed scripts to you. Even pointed out what you needed to do to fix them. And yet still upgrading to something that does not work coming from that which did not work. Changing protocols faster then someone can keep their firewalls abreast of Changing them as many as two and three times a week. Always openning the door for the Crminal type hacker / cracker. This within shutting down thousands upon thousand of those users not savie in programming. I know I’m not the only IT out here seeing yahoo’s double talking bottom line.
Specifically today; Your points of Profile linked info to other web site accounts I hold. You only have but a couple that are widely used by the majority. The others your “We’ll Find it by your ID there”, “Doesn’t work”! This even when I am logged into that account just placed in your search, is open in the next tab (IE7), and fully logged in. Actually, you couldn’t find my account for those services you have got listed. You can’t find my Flickr account to my 360º in what I believe is going on it’s fourth year being reported to you. Everything had been ready to rock -n- roll in the flickr side. But your 360º people/server/any conection to someone handling the service still reports I don’t have any photo’s on flicker. But I believe this to me more of a hack by criminals then miss-srcipt in this point. But just goes to shows what types some people are that are in the employee of Yahoo..
I have been on Yahoo since 1998. These last 8 years, you are indeed continually showing me that there is no buttom to the pit you having been falling down in for a great great while. When you were using Briefcase back in 2000 – 2001 you were doing great, Associations we had between folks was doing great. Course that you put an end to with Yahoo Photo’s then shortly following you killed that for your start up of Flickr and other pointed services. Well about a handfull of people out of the millions actually have an account that works. If there is that few at all!. It’s been one cluster _ _ _ _ after another. And the Laughable portion was the announcment two days ago of Briefcase being terminated. Yet it’s use was indeed chipped out pretty much by Yahoo Photo’;s 6 years ago.. LOL!!! Come on!!
I apologize for how I end this, but as we all know, it is the truth in the light of our Lord and Father. Yahoo Inc! needs a giant wake up call, please Something I thought they had many times since way way back. Yahoo smell the coffee please!

I’d really love to see yahoo come up with a way to link accounts within itself like I do at aol. If I could do this, I’d of had no use for aol in the first place. Just would make it a little more user friendly.

Melissa,
Thanks for profiles page.
1. Is there a way we can add stylehive site in the “Share More” section of the updates? More general question is how can we add third party (non yahoo sites). So that activities of users in non-yahoo sites show up in their updates section.
2. If not how can they add rss feeds from third party sites in the updates section.
3. Finally, if one of the above is there, is there a way to do this using any yahoo API?
Thanks

Arun,
We’re looking at implementing a RSS option within profiles, but at this time, I’m afraid this option doesn’t exist.
One way that some users have been working around this has been by adding their StumbleUpon profile to profiles, and then “stumbling” the pages they wish to share.
Currently, there’s not an open API for profiles but again, it’s another thing we’re looking at.

I am able to change my settings for Delicious and Flickr, however I am unable to add it to my updates. Why is that? Why can’t Profiles find my username in its very own third party sites? You should have that information before any other site don’t you agree.
For everything listed in the Settings tab you should also have it listed on the Share More tab. Common sense, why would I change settings for sites that you do not support? so why are they listed on one tab and not on the other.
I have searched all around the Help area only to be routed all around Yahoo with no answer. There is no place for us to submit our specific problem which really upsets me, because it shows that you really dont want to help me.
