i am really sick of all these updates for yahoo profiles. yahoo profiles used to be simple and easy to manage. now with all the new settings and changes to make profiles better in yahoo words. i just don't even care anymore to update my profile. i guess since yahoo wants the younger core audience and bailed on its current members, yahoo has clearly indicated to me i am not a valued member.
at one time i pushed yahoo as a good network to be on. i no longer do so.

what i really don't understand is, on one clean sweep, yahoo removed all current profiles.maken there network look bare on the member profiles area. what was the point of destroying yrs of work to build up.?
yahoo will never recover from this. yahoo and melissa can keep putting a good spin on it. to make it not look like crap. but the unhappy people versus the happy people. the unhappy people clearly out number those.

also complaining here is useless. it seems melissa gave up

rip yahoo, you were a good website and network in your peak. the death spin your in now is hard to watch.
i will never understand why you attacked your core member base. i say i don't understand cause i have not seen any improvements that have been claimed by yahoo staff.

Thanks for the heads up, Jeni, but I must have one of those ... Profile Blogs? ... as I don't get a pop-up.

I am pretty certain I am just going to set up an Outlook client, have it pull my mail, and never again deal with the Yahoo website.

Yahoo, are you listening? We want options. Stop "featuring" us to death!

Jim, it now gets WORSE.
Attempting to access your Yahoo Mail via the Yahoo Mail website, if you have not done a YaHELL Profool Blogs create-update to your Yahoo user account, you are presented with a non-overrideable popup box that forces you to do such an update.

Why? Yet another unneeded "feature". Some of just want to use Yahoo for email We don't need you to be the all encompassing Borg of the Internet world. I'm still trying to get you to delete my 360 page for privacy reasons, and for two years you've given me the runaround. Here's yet another potential piece of private data that search engines can pick up and post in the public domain.

How about an option to opt-out of "modules"?

I haven't been able to delete the first listed alias on my account for weeks now. I always get the "Oops! Looks like our servers are taking a break. Please try again later." message. Eventho I can make and delete any other new aliases on the same account. :)

Since the new profile system neither I nor anyone in my group, especially new and pending members know how to display a profile on the members list.

I am having to give individual instruction to all new and pending members and it is either too complicated or it doesn't work, so no new profiles are getting put up on our members list.

Ours is a group for adult women and so it is important for these profiles to be visible on our yahoogroup site.

Also it concerns me that there haven't been any new comments since November 20th 2008. Has everyone given up because yahoo have made it so obvious they are not going to do anything about this?

The whole yahoogroup system is going up the creek because of what has happened to the profiles, and well no-one at yahoo seems to mind, hey let the whole shebang just fall apart, all our communities, oh and by the way yahoo will go bust and bankrupt and then none of it will exist anymore unless someone from outside takes it over and restores all the old settings that everyone was comfortable with using.

God save us from people who know what we want better than we do ourselves.

One of my guilty pleasures was scanning profiles in the Yahoo chat rooms. Well, I've seen the rooms dwindle and the bots multiply over the past 5 years, much to my dismay. Most people (actually people, not bots) are in the chat rooms under an alias. Because of this, no more profiles to scan. I don't chat with anyone without scanning their profile first and due to the alias' not allowed to have a profile this severely limits my access to people who may have become great friends. Why are alias' denied profiles? Why limit the Yahoo experience? It seems more and more that Yahoo is taking away features and asking us to thank them for it! The chat rooms are a travesty. Our selection of topics decrease each time I access them. It is increasingly hard to find like-minded people to chat with when the topics are reduced to what is currently available to us. I am currently looking for another chat program which will allow me to choose what I wish to talk about, and who I talk to. When I enter a Yahoo chat room I am bombarded with bots pm-ing me in a barrage that diminishes my "positive chat experience". As far as reporting them, I do. Each and everyone. I have filled my ignore list more than twice. Many (most) chat rooms are completely filled with bots. I mean literally only bots. What do you suggest for people like me who enjoy chat and viewing profiles? It is no longer attainable through the Yahoo service.

What a surprise that was to look up my profiles and find them all gone. No warning there. OK, since joining Yahoo in 1998 when it was a great service, I have suffered the following:
1)Email became bloatware and downloading attachments is a pain,'
2)Yahoo photos deleted and becomes Flickr...and I had to rebuild all my albums. Incidentally, I don't bother going there anymore...no direct link to the profiles anymore.
3)Yahoo continually being obstructive to third party chat progams (Trillian) by blocking messenger from them. Instead, Yahoo only wants you to use their bloatware/spyware/pc controlling Messenger. I virtually never use Messenger now.
3)Today's surprise I find all my profiles gone (no I shouldn't have to ask for the info back...should have been done automatically). I have lost interest in Yahoo and will not be bothering to create a new profile.

Face it, Yahoo...you just go on your merry way regardless of what the users are happy with.
